  • Finally, index your posts, and you are all set to get started.

2. Start Searching

2.1 Autocomplete and Result Page

If Quicklaunch is properly configured on your website/store, you will get to see the autocomplete and result page. As a part of the autocomplete page, we will, by default, display the show title, description, and thumbnail. You will get to see the domain name as well if your cross-domain feature is turned on. When you sign up for a free account, Quicklaunch will create thumbnails on our server and serve right from there. On the other hand, for paid users, we generate and host thumbnails on the server but deliver them via CDN. It might happen that your search bar won’t show autocomplete; in such scenarios, you have to scroll through this guide and review the “Setup Your Search Bar” section.

2.2 Make Adjustments To The Result Ranking

a) Control over the posts to display user query

Quicklaunch renders the users fine-grained control over the search results. It lets the users manage the post to pop up on the top for a particular query. This can be achieved by adding the query as a tag to the post and further providing the “Tag” subject a high weightage like 9 to 10 and probably decrease the “Title” weight. Even though this function does not allow you to specify which posts should be ranked on numbers 2, 3, or later, it does allow you to display which post to highlight on the top for a query.

b) Field weight

Quicklaunch understands the user’s desire to have better control over the result ranking. And to fulfill this demand, we provide Field Weight control. This helps our search engine prioritize the posts that better match the title than those that match the description. To get access to this feature, look for the “Documents” menu and then adjust the weight. Field level ranges from 10 to 0. You can set it according to your needs.

c) Customized sorting feature

Quicklaunch is planning to come up with this feature really soon. Using this feature, one can efficiently perform multi-field sorting. In simpler terms, the Customized Sorting feature allows users to choose whether the matching content should rank according to popularity or recency.

2.3 Match Option

Quicklaunch offers relevant and appropriate search results. To answer a specific user question, our engine will first determine which posts are relevant and rank them based on score and recency. To put it another way, if two posts have the same relevance, we will give the most recent one priority and rank it higher.

To provide users with search relevancy, Quicklaunch uses Board Match. The board match is one of the options that help in increasing the search coverage. This is done by finding the content with the terms that match the query irrespective of the word order and form.

3. Search Analytical Report

3.1 Analytics dashboard

To let our clients track their user’s search and clicks, Quicklaunch provides them with a detailed analytics report. In order to get the report, the client is required to sign into the Quicklaunch admin area, choose the desired domain for which the report is required, and lastly, click on the Analytics option.

3.2 Detailed analytic report

Quicklaunch dashboard provides a report of the top 10 results. However, you can also obtain a detailed report with up to 1,000 results. For this, all you need is to click the “Export” option further to download the report on the device in CSV format.
